On Thursday, June 29th from 5:00-7:00 PM, in the Elkins Town Square, Davis Medical Center will be holding a “What Matters to You, Matters to Me” event.
Every year in June, “What Matters to You Day” aims to encourage and support more meaningful conversations, between the people who provide health and social care, and the individuals who receive that care.
DMC Community Liaison, Chad Ware said, “From a community standpoint, this is a great opportunity to speak to some of our providers and healthcare workers in a fun and relaxed setting, without the backdrop of a clinical exam room. We want you to know, that what matters most to you, matters to us, and working hand in hand with the community, to deliver the best health care as possible is the goal of everyone at Davis Medical.”
DHS Chief Medical Officer Catherine “Mindy” Chua, D.O. added “Asking what matters helps healthcare teams to further understand what is important to their patients. Providing care that focuses on the needs of patients and families leads to stronger partnerships, improved treatment and health outcomes, patient safety, and an overall better care experience for the patient.”
Various DMC providers will be on hand to discuss “what matters?” In addition, the group will provide A1C and blood pressure checks, NARCAN distribution, information on osteoarthritis & joint replacement, home visits, and details on the new Bundle and Save Lab program. Visitors can also sign up for the annual 100 Miles in 100 Days Walking/Running Program.
Ware said, “We want to make the event fun. We will have Starbucks WPS coupons, giveaways, face painting for the kids and a New Tygart Flyer train ticket door prize.”
“We thank the people at ‘Our Town Inc.’ for allowing us to partner with them throughout their summer concert series. They do so much for Elkins, and it goes without saying, we are grateful for their hard work and partnership,” Ware added.
The DMC activity is in conjunction with the ‘Free Concert’ series that Our Town Inc. provides. The ‘Air National Guard Touring Band of the Northeast’ will be performing on stage, and the always popular, classic car cruise-in will be taking place.
