PARSONS – Members of Parsons City Council met Tuesday and talked about repairs to the Pulp Mill Bottom Dike.
Parsons City Administrator/Treasurer told Council he was told their proposed request to FEMA for the Dike repairs was going to be denied because it was pre-existing.
“I got a call last week on Thursday, and they told me that FEMA is considering another project that is pre-existing, so they have decided to reconsider our project as well. They were supposed to come up because they have a question, and I think it is about the ownership. They will be coming through and it will be on short notice.”
Further updates about the Dike repair project will be presented as they are made available.
The next regular meeting of the Parsons City Council is slated for 6 p.m. Sept. 15 in the Council Chambers of the Charles W. “Bill” Rosenau Municipal Building in Parsons.
