PARSONS – April Miller, who was involved in an accident where two children and one adult died, pleaded guilty to three misdemeanor counts of child neglect in Tucker County Circuit Court Tuesday.

Tucker County Circuit Court Judge Lynn Nelson dismissed one count of child neglect resulting in serious bodily injury, two counts of child neglect resulting in death, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of permitting a DUI.

A sentencing date was not set, and Nelson ordered a pre-sentencing investigation by the Probation Office. Miller was indicted in February 2014 by the Tucker County Grand Jury. She was represented by Timothy Prentice.

Also appearing in Tucker County Circuit Court recently:

-Eric Mullenax appeared before Tucker County Circuit Court Judge Philip B. Jordan Jr. Mullenax was indicted on three counts of breaking and entering for allegedly taking five bags of wood pellets from Southern States, valued at $46.54.

-Kenneth Bott appeared with his attorney Brent Easton. Bott entered a plea agreement and was ordered to make monthly payments on his $4,110.14 balance. Jordan agreed that if Bott misses two payments, he would finish his sentence in jail. Jordan also ordered Bott’s felony charges be reduced to misdemeanor.

Jordan set his next hearing for 9:30 a.m. for a possible plea hearing, or to set the date for a trial.

-Clayton Carpenter appeared with his attorney Frank Bush. Tucker County Prosecuting Attorney Ray LaMora III said they were close to a plea agreement, but said they lack a few things.

-Corey Cochran appeared with his attorney Frank Bush. Bush made a motion to have Cochran’s statements suppressed; however, Jordan denied the motion. Cochran is slated for a motion hearing at 1:45 p.m. Sept. 8.
