THOMAS – Folks living or visiting the Thomas and Davis areas now have a new place to fill their prescriptions. Preston Taylor Pharmacy, located in Mountaintop Health Center in Thomas near Cortland Acres opened its doors last Wednesday. Pharmacist Kristen White said the pharmacy will be open the same hours as the clinic – making it easy for folks to get their medicines.
“We will be open Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m., Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. and Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.,” White said. “This will offer varied hours for folks.”
White said they are offering their services not only to Mountaintop Health Center patients, but also to anyone who wishes to use their services.
“We offer a full line of pharmaceuticals, but as of this time, we do not carry over the counter medications,” White said. “We just fill prescriptions.”
White said medicines called in should be available for pick up in the same day. “Folks who want to utilize mail order prescriptions may do so through our Grafton pharmacy location.
Linda Shriver, CEO of Preston Taylor Community Health Centers and the Mountaintop Health Center, said aside from the Pharmacy, the Clinic offers board certified family practice treating patients from birth to senior citizens.
“We also have a Black Lung Clinic Program,” Shriver said. “It is financed through a grant and Dr. Edwin Rader does screenings and evaluations for black lung. We also offer CDL physicals, bus driver physicals and those kinds of visits in addition to treatment of illnesses.”
