Tucker County’s Justin Fike pops the ball up in a recent game against Pocahontas County

MT. STORM – Tucker County started Sectional play last Monday May 11th at Union. The Mt. Lions out hit the home standing Tigers 7 to 4, but Tucker County could not get the win as they fell in the contest 5-4.
Thomas Evans, Shayne Liller, Landon Dillard and Michael Gherman had 1 hit each for the Mt. Lions. Justin Fike collected 2 hits in the loss for Tucker County. Zac Haddox took the loss for the Mt. Lions as Haddox went 6 innings. Haddox walked one, struck out six and allowed 5 runs.
MT. STORM – On Wednesday May 13th the Mt. Lions traveled to Union to play a Sectional elimination game. The winner would move on to play at Tygarts Valley in the Sectional Final. The hot bats was not enough for Tucker County as they lost the game in a shootout 9-8 to end their season. Zac Haddox took the loss on the mound. The Mt. Lions took an early 2-0 lead in the 1st inning, but Union answered with 2 runs in the 2nd inning. Tucker County added one run in the 3rd inning and another run in the 5th inning. Union would fight back once again as they captured 1 run in the 3rd inning and 1 run in the 6th inning. The Tigers never looked back after that and went on to capture the contest by the final score of 9-8.
