The First United Methodist Church Women hosted a picnic for the new minister Rev. Julie Davis and husband Josh on July 13, 2023. The following people enjoyed a variety of delicious food and good fellowship:  Deanna and Marvin Canfield, Barbara and Mont Miller, Dorothy Carr, Tucker Carr, Lill White, Sharon Phillips, John Cale, Linda Persutti, Jeanette Crosten, Katherine Pine, Jesse Pine, Phil Carr, Yvonne Parsons, Jared Parsons, Ed and Eileen Poling, Diane Miller and son, Glenda Lipscomb, Judy Ingram, Alice Phillips, Gloria Fox,  Butch Fox, Luann’s and John Bava, Janet and Gary Nestor, Wanda Booth, Eldon and Linda Plaugher,  Eldon and Frances Harper, Billie McDonald, Bobby and Anita Phillips, Liz Lancaster, and Dennis and Kay Flanagan.

After dinner Tucker Carr, grandson of Dorothy Carr and a student at WVU, entertained the group about his experience on the Allegheny Trail. Tucker and his friend had made plans for a 15 day hike. With their food, water, and back packs, they started the trail at Durban, but after two days of encounters with rattle snakes, no water resulting in dehydration and little sleep it turned into a two day hike.
