“Show your ride, show what you got,” City of Parson Treasurer Mistee Griffith said. “Whatever your proud of. I just want people to come.”

Plans are gearing up for the City of Parsons first Parsons Day. Rides of all kinds are lining up for the Show Us Your Ride Show Saturday August 30th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Courthouse Parking Lot.

Griffith said she was contacted by one local resident who is planning to bring a 1947 rotor tiller that was purchased locally in Parsons and is still in use to this day. “He thinks its a great part of Parsons history and I told him absolutely bring it,” Griffith said.

Other inclusions to the show include trucks, tractors, cars, vans and motorcycles. There will also be music until two at which time festivities will transition to the park where the remainder of Parsons Day activities are held.

Griffith said the idea to open the show up to anything was sparked by a post on the City of Parsons Facebook page where someone asked about bringing a motorcycle. “Why should we shut it down to just classics and modifieds?” Griffith said. “Like no, just open it up. If you have an old scooter or a three wheeler from like back in the day, bring it.”

The day is already looking to be a fun filled one with plenty of food trucks and vendors signed up for the event. Griffith said that a large crowd from all over the surrounding area are expected to attend.
