Grafton, WV (March 18, 2024) – Preston-Taylor Community Health Centers, Inc. (PTCHC) is pleased to announce the recent merger with Complete Eye Care, as the organization takes over management of the practice and welcomes Dr. Sherry Swartz (Knotts), OD to its highly skilled team of healthcare professionals. Dr. Swartz will be instrumental in the medical provider’s expansion of optometry services within Taylor County.
Dr. Swartz brings with her nearly twenty-five years of experience and expertise in optometry. The Taylor County native is a graduate with honors from Ohio State University’s College of Optometry, where she earned a Doctorate of Optometry (OD). She has served the community’s eye care needs since the opening of her practice in 2002.
“We are excited to welcome Dr. Swartz to our Preston-Taylor team,” said June Griffith, Chief Executive Officer at PTCHC. “Her passion for optometry and devotion to community-centered healthcare are in line with our mission to provide comprehensive healthcare services to the residents of Preston, Taylor, Tucker, and Grant Counties.”
Services will continue to be delivered at Complete Eye Care’s current location of 216 Lincoln Street in Grafton, West Virginia, with the same helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly staff. Dr. Swartz and her staff will focus on delivering optical exams, diagnosing, and treating eye conditions, prescribing corrective lenses as needed, and much more.
“It is an honor to join the team at Preston-Taylor Community Health Centers, Inc.,” said Dr. Sherry Swartz. “This merger will allow myself and my staff to continue providing comprehensive and affordable eye care services to our rural health community of Taylor County. We are eager to welcome patients old and new.”
Dr. Swartz’s practice will continue to accept and bill the same insurances that their patients are accustomed to providing. The merger with Preston-Taylor Community Health Centers Inc. will now allow the practice to offer a sliding fee program for qualified patients, helping to ease the financial costs of services.
“This is a very exciting time for our office and will allow us to position ourselves for the future,” Dr. Swartz stated, “Our hope is to add another optometrist, specializing in Pediatrics, and to promote good ocular health and vision in our young patients because healthy school learning comes from healthy clear vision.”
