Brian Quattro was arraigned October 22nd on charges stemming from a Grand Jury indictments October 7th. The charges, from two cases, equaled a 10 count indictment against the 55 year old. Quattro appeared in court alongside his attorney Sam Hess.
The first case saw Quattro face a six count Grand Jury Indictment. Count one was for Attempted Murder, a felony; Count two was for Malicious Assault, a felony; Count three was for Animal Cruelty, a misdemeanor; Count four was for Battery of a Law Enforcement Officer, a misdemeanor and Count six was for Destruction of Property, a misdemeanor.
A motion by Hess for discovery was granted and a pre-trial hearing for December 10th was set at which time a trial date will be established.
In the second case, the Grand Jury returned a four count indictment. Count one was for Intimidation of a Public Official, a felony and Counts two through four were for Retaliation Against a Public Official, a felony.
An initial bond in the case was set at $10,000, however, three additional charges were added at the Grand Jury, Prosecuting Attorney Savannah Hull Wilkins said. Wilkins requested that the $500,000 bond set in the other case be applied to case, as well. Judge Shaffer granted the request.
A no contact order was also granted by the court in the case.
Judge Shaffer established in both cases that Quattro had not only the education, but capacity to understand the charges being brought before him, as well as that Attorney Hess had adequately explained the nature of the charges to Quattro enough so that a plea could be competently made.
Quattro plead not guilty to all charges in both cases and remains in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail.
