BAKER – The Lady Mt. Lions Cheerleaders traveled to East Hardy on Saturday October 17th to compete in the PVC Cheer Championship. Tucker County had a very clean routine up to the last pyramid, but a 51 point safety deduction pushed them from 1st place to 3rd place after the final calculations. Pendleton County won the competition with a point total of 167.5, Moorefield was 2nd with 161, Tucker County was 3rd with 151, Union placed 4th with a 139.5 and East Hardy finished 5th with a 126. Head Coach Amber Kyle was positive after the event saying, “The squad will work hard to improve the routine for Regionals.” The team will return to action at Hedgesville High School for the Regional Competition on November 7th at 10am. The top 2 teams in each class from each region will advance to the State Cheer Championship in Charleston on December 12th. Tucker County is looking to advance to the State Competition for the second year in a row, after advancing to the State Competition last year for the first time in school history.
