Tucker YLA joined more than one hundred teens from West Virginia, Ohio, and Virginia at YLA’s annual Fall Conference. Held at Jackson’s mill Conference on November 10-12, 2023, teens sharpened their leadership, service, and organization skills.
“Step up to make your school and community better,” challenged Robbie Skinner, Mayor of Buckhannon and Executive Director of Upshur County Economic Development Authority. Boost your YLA sessions conducted by students and volunteers generated new activities and service initiatives for back home. Team building, communication, networking as well as a dance and talent show highlighted the intense and a good time with a purpose three-day conference.
Ohio-West Virginia Youth Leadership Association (YLA) is a not-for-profit focused on youth civic leadership development. YLA signature programs are local YLA Chapters, Youth in Government at the Ohio Statehouse and West Virginia Capitol, 8th Grade Youth & Government Seminars at the Capitol, Teen Entrepreneurship and Leadership Summits and Youth Opportunity Camps for children at the Camp Horseshoe soon at YLA’s new Cave Lake Center for Community Leadership in Ohio.
