The Cortland Foundation is raffling a 2016 Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV) with trailer to benefit the next phase of Cortland Acres’ renovation plans.
The tickets cost $100 each with only 200 raffle tickets being sold, said Sam Goughnour, vice president of Cortland Foundation.
“The Cortland Foundation Board of Directors is always searching for opportunities to support Cortland Acres residents and the community,” Goughnour said. “As an organization we decided to put all proceeds from this fundraiser toward the renovation of existing resident rooms and common areas.”
The UTV is a new 2016 Polaris 570 Ranger with a 6×12 aluminum Polaris trailer. The prize package is worth almost $12,500 and will be on display at Cortland Acres in Thomas.
“Each of the 200 tickets sold have five numbers on it, starting with 000-004 and ending in 995-999,” Goughnour said. “The winning ticket will be determined by the West Virginia Lottery Daily 3 drawing on April 29.”
Cortland Acres Development Director Dan Bucher said that this project supports the Cortland Foundation’s mission to secure resources to enhance the health and well-being of the Cortland community.
“The Foundation will help Cortland continue to provide and expand quality care and services to our neighbors during a time when the cost of providing that care continues to increase,” he said.
To purchase a ticket call Goughnour at 304-614-4674 or Lois Nelson and Dan Bucher at 304-463-4181. Donations to the Foundation are tax-deductible.
The Cortland Foundation will also host its third annual “Pasta Palooza” on Friday, April 29 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Cortland Dining Room. Plates will be uniquely created in front of each guest by Executive Chef and Tucker County High School ProStart program instructor Carrie Shahan.
Additionally the Cortland Foundation will bring back its “As I Age” interactive chalkboard at area festivals throughout the summer and fall.
