New West Virginia University President Michael T. Benson toured the Tucker County Courthouse on Tuesday, September 9th, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. as part of his effort to visit all 55 counties in the State. President Benson seemed exceptionally impressed with the effort Tucker County takes to keep its Courthouse in historically accurate condition, its original architecture and maintains its historical records. The President also admired the array of historically relevant displays throughout the building. Among those present for the tour were members of the President’s staff as well as Tucker County Prosecuting Attorney Savannah Hull Wilkins and Tucker County Commission President Mike Rosenau. The President toured the entirely of the Courthouse including the offices of Tucker County Sheriff Jake Kopec, the Prosecuting Attorney, the County Commission, the new Courthouse Annex, Vault and the Old Courtroom.
