A criminal complaint was obtained from the Tucker County Magistrate office where probable cause was found to charge Cantrell with Battery on a School Employee. On Thursday, Dec. 12, Parsons Police Chief J.E. Jones responded to a call at the Tucker Valley Elementary Middle School. The call was to report an irate parent at the school causing a problem. According to Jones, Amanda Jo Cantrell arrived at the school and was denied entry. At this time, Cantrell allegedly shoved Principal Tracy Chenoweth backward into the doors of the building as she attempted to physically force her way into the building.
A criminal complaint was obtained from the Tucker County Magistrate office where probable cause was found to charge Cantrell with Battery on a School Employee. She was arraigned and released on a $5,000 PR bond and must appear in court at a date yet to be determined. She must avoid being on any property of Tucker County Schools until the case is settled and new conditions may be established by the courts.
Chenoweth did not require any medical attention.
