PARSONS – Morgan Simmons and Nathan Davis were selected as the Little Miss and Little Mr. Mt. Lion Friday evening during the Tucker County High School Football game against Philip Barbour. The contest was open to Tucker County girls and boys, age 3 to 6 years old, and served as a fundraiser for the TCHS cheerleaders.
Morgan, 3, of Thomas, is the daughter of Alan and Amanda Simmons. She is the granddaughter of the late Carl and Ethel Simmons and Mike and Carol Helmick. She is the little sister of Katlyn and Drew. Morgan attends St. Thomas Catholic Church. She likes to play with baby dolls, play with her siblings and ride her bike. When Morgan grows up she wants to be a cheerleader. Morgan was escorted by TCHS cheerleaders Summer Snyder and Scottie Bowley.
Nathan Davis, age 6, of Parsons is the son of Angelia and Christopher Davis. Nathan has two special dogs – Missy and Murphy. He is the grandson of Roger and Dottie Murphy and Jeanie and Dave Davis. He attends Tucker Valley Elementary Middle School and the Riverview Chapel Church. Nathan enjoys playing Mario, going camping and playing with transformers and trains. When he grows up he wants to be an engineer on a train. Nathan was escorted by TCHS cheerleaders Sydney Moore and Elizabeth Nichols.
Each contestant was paired with two TCHS cheerleaders to raise votes with one penny equaling one vote. The funds raised help purchase uniforms, send cheerleaders to camp, purchase spirit items for the TCHS students, pay for pep buses to football and basketball games and pay for transportation to games and pay for expenses involved in competitions.
TCHS Cheerleading coach Amber Kyle said the event raised nearly $10,000. She said the cheerleaders will participate in the Potomac Valley Conference cheer competition Oct. 11 at Keyser High School and the state regional cheer competition on Nov. 8 at Buckhannon High School.

Ashbey Darlington, 4, of Parsons, is the daughter of Patrick and Ashleigh Darlington and the little sister of Shaeleigh. She is the granddaughter of Scott and Sherry Banks and Gene and Sandy Darlington. Ashbey attends Tucker Valley pre-school and Riverview Chapel Church. She enjoys dancing, drawing, singing, gardening, planting flowers and cooking. When she grows up she wants to be a pet doctor. Ashbey was escorted by TCHS cheerleaders Jonna Burnside and Leah Underwood.
Gabriella Gross, 6, of Thomas, is the daughter of Heather and Kerry Gross and the granddaughter of Jerry and Linda Hardy, Amy Poling and Klaus Gross. She attends Davis Thomas Elementary Middle School. Gabriella enjoys loom bands and playing dress up. When she grows up she wants to be a nurse. Gabriella was escorted by TCHS cheerleaders Lindsey Poling and Zoe Sypolt.
Jaelyn Grace Myers, 3, of Parsons, is the daughter of Jason and Rebecca Myers. She has two brothers, Treyton and Kylan. She is the granddaughter of Leroy and Janet Myers, and Diana Rothenburgh, and her Nanny is Deb Hinkle. She attends the Riverview Chapel Church. Jaelyn enjoys singing, dancing, playing dress-up and traveling with her family. When she grows up she wants to be a doctor. Jaelyn was escorted by TCHS cheerleaders Cortney Haddox and Kayla Wolford.
Sydney Paige Plumley, age 3, of Parsons, is the daughter of Jamie and Jason Plumley. Sydney is the little sister of Lillyan and Ariona. She is the granddaughter of Steve and Bernie McDonald and Boyd Plumley. She attends the Catholic Church and enjoys riding her bike, playing with her sisters and jumping on the trampoline. When she grows up she wants to be a doctor. Sydney was escorted by TCHS cheerleaders Kenzi Pitzer and Kenzie Kyle.
Bryant Wilfong, 3, of Hendricks, is the son of Hannah and Jason Adkins and the big brother to Braelyn. He is the grandson of Brian Adkins, Deanna Minear, Rusty Ward and Teresa Ward. He attends Tucker Valley Pre-school. Bryant enjoys riding 4-wheelers, fishing and everything outdoors. When he grows up she wants to be a cop. Bryant was escorted by TCHS cheerleaders Morgan Moss and Kelsey.
