The recent bout of bad weather has handed out a lot of destruction around the area. The latest victim has been the new City of Parsons sign at the end of the Blackfork Bridge.

The actual body of the sign is made up of a very dense type of foam board. Jason Myers, Parsons City Administrator/Treasurer, stated, “When I got the call that the sign had been destroyed, it just ruined my whole day.”

Tim Harris, of Appalachian Signs, LLC, in Montrose, is already at work making a replacement for the sign. The cost of the new sign will be $2,640 and that will be covered by insurance.

Myers later stated, “We are hoping to move the sign closer to US219 for better visibility.”
