The contracts for the tele-speech services provided by Integrated Speech Solutions and the on-site speech services provided by Best Life Therapy were approved by the Board of Education during the Monday, March 19 meeting.
This will result in the termination of two county employees and savings of approximately $20,000.
The board approved the procurement of Williamson Shriver Architects to complete the roof and site drainage projects at Davis Thomas Elementary Middle School.
One first grade student, one fifth grade student, and one eighth grade student will all transfer from Tucker Valley Elementary Middle School to Davis Thomas Elementary Middle School for the 2018-2019 school year.
One Preston County student was denied a request to transfer to Tucker County High School for the remainder of the school year.
The board acknowledged two receipts, totaling four children, of intent to homeschool children for the remainder of the school year.
The board approved two out of state field trips. Jay Wilfong and Kasie Gafner will take the PK classes to Pittsburg Children’s Museum on April 10. The Tucker Valley eighth grade will go to Kennywood Amusement Park in Pennsylvania on May 30.
The board approved Godwin Auto Repair shop in Elkins as a Tucker County High School senior job shadow site.

All of spring break is scheduled as school days, except for Good Friday. The StArt Show is scheduled on May 6. Prom is scheduled on April 28.
