The annual TCF Grant Reception held December 13 at the Tuscan Grille Event Center in Parsons gave donors and grantees an opportunity to meet and learn first-hand how local philanthropy is making an impact on programs and projects around the region.

Following food and beverage provided by Piccolo Paula’s Caffe, Jennifer Poling, Dave Clark and Karen Jacobson presented a power point and explanation of how a 2012 grant from Tucker Community Foundation helped Woodland Community Lenders leverage additional funding that to date has resulted in the creation or expansion of 46 businesses supporting 78 employees.
Grantees told how grant support helped with the purchase of a snow slider for adaptive skiers at Timberline; how funds were helping New Historic Thomas with their bridge connector project; how a grant for a space and technology day would benefit high school students from Tucker and Union; and how financial and technical support from TCF is helping with the development of a transportation museum and event center in Terra Alta.

Several team captains and members were on hand to share how their team’s Run For It proceeds benefitted their organization.

Rob Burns stated, “The common thread among the attendees is the desire to strengthen and enhance programs that benefit our region. Donors who attend the Grants Reception appreciate having a direct connection with individuals who are working hard to make a difference. Tucker Community Foundation is proud to be part of that process.”
