Albin Marion Summerfield

Albin Marion Summerfield, age 82 years, a resident of the Moore Community, Montrose, WV departed this life late Saturday evening, June 12, 2021, at Transitions Healthcare at Washington, PA. He had been in declining health for the past seven months.

He was born Tuesday, December 20, 1938, in Tucker County, WV, a son of the late Vineyard Bruce Summerfield and Mary Marie Drane Summerfield. On July 13, 1959, at Oakland, MD, he was married to the former Norma Jean Davis, who survives. They have celebrated sixty-two years of marriage.

Also surviving are three sons, Thomas Bruce Summerfield and companion Tammy of Newmanstown, PA, David Allen Summerfield and wife Deanna of Hambleton, and Anthony Ward Summerfield and companion Vicky of Parsons; four grandchildren, Thomas Bruce Summerfield, Jr., Aaron Kent Summerfield, Allen David Summerfield and wife Stephanie and Ryan Noble Summerfield; three great grandchildren; Colin Edward, Evelyn Jean, and Wade Allen Summerfield; sister-in-law, Joan Summerfield; nephew, Timothy Summerfield; niece, Janie Walton.

Preceding him in death is a granddaughter, Ahleah Summerfield; two brothers, Junior and Wade Summerfield.

He attended Parsons High School and was a Veteran of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked construction with the Labor Union and was a self-employed Timber Cutter most of his life, retiring during 2000. He was a member of the North American Fishing Club. He loved fishing and mowing the grass, tinkering with small engines and working the dozer. He loved his children and grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons, WV on Tuesday from 4 to 7 PM. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at 1 PM. The Rev. James Snyder will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons, WV., where the H.W. Daniels Post #29 American Legion, the Tygart Valley Post #3647 Veterans of Foreign War and the Tucker Co. Veterans Assoc. will conduct full military honors. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Albin Marion Summerfield. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com
