Alicia Maude McDonald Lawrence, age 55 years, a resident of Hendricks, WV, departed this life Thursday afternoon, July 31, 2014 at her home, surrounded by her family, following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born Saturday, January 31, 1959 at Winchester, VA., a daughter of the late Milton Harold and Vada Ruth Youngblood McDonald. On March 31, 1977 at Winchester, VA., she was married to Jack Allen Lawrence, Sr., who survives. They had celebrated thirty seven years of marriage.
Also surviving are three sons, Jack Allen Lawrence, II and Heather Gain, and Adam Michael Lawrence and fiancé Erica Gain, all of Philippi, and Austin Jack Allen Lawrence of Hendricks; two brothers, Keith Milton McDonald of TX, Eric Harold McDonald and wife Debbie of Paw Paw, WV; one sister, Denise Ellen McConnell of Winchester, VA; her mother-in-law and best friend, Donna Lawrence of Hendricks; and six grandchildren, Madisan, Brittany, Breeanna, Matthew, Mallery and Zac.
Preceding her in death are one son; Lorren James Lawrence; and her father-in-law, Lorren Jack Lawrence.
She attended James Wood High School at Winchester, VA. She was a member of the Hambleton Pentecostal Church of God and she was a homemaker. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, riding bikes and along with her husband, she was a Harley Davidson enthusiast. She was a very talented artist, knitting, painting and playing the Ukulele. Alicia being very kind and compassionate had a great love for everyone, especially her family.
The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. On Monday, August 3, 2014, Alicia was moved to the Hambleton Pentecostal Church of God, where friends called from 1 until 2 p.m., the funeral hour. The Reverend Neil Parsons officiated and interment followed at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons, WV.
