Anita “Gail” Scott Martin, age 69 years, a native of Elkins, WV and a resident of Buckhannon, WV, departed this life Friday morning, October 4, 2019 at Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown, WV., and under the care of West Virginia Caring Hospice.
She was born Thursday, December 29, 1949 at Elkins, WV, a daughter of the late Robert George and Nellie May Woods Scott. On April 5, 1968 at Elkins, WV, she was married to Gary Lee Martin, who survives. They had celebrated fifty-one years of marriage.
Also surviving are one daughter, Ronda Gail Lehner and husband Joseph of Marshallville, OH; one brother, Donald Scott of Junior, WV; two sisters, Deloris Johnson of Elkins and Patty O’Brien and husband Bob of Lockbourne, OH.
Preceding her in death are three brothers, Roger “Bud” Scott, Sonny Scott and Robert Scott; and two sisters, Bonnie Race and Edith Marco.
She attended the schools of Randolph County. She worked as a waitress in Akron, OH, retiring in July of 2007. She enjoyed going to antique car shows, playing cards with her daughter and music.
The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. Final rites were conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 11 a.m. Joseph Lehner officiated and interment followed at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons, WV.
