Barbara Ann Summerfield Watson

Barbara Ann Summerfield Watson, 73, a resident of Parsons, passed from this life Friday, October 18, 2019, at her home surrounded by her family and under the care of Mountain Hospice.

Barbara was born Monday, December 24, 1945, in Elkins, a daughter of the late Benjamin Harrison Summerfield and Wanda Elizabeth Allender Summerfield. On November 10, 1988, in Oakland, MD, she was married to Grover Alfred Watson, Jr. who preceded her in death on November 3, 2012.

Left to cherish her memory are three children, William “Willie” Haddix and wife, Brenda of Parsons, Patricia Fulton and husband, Michael of Davis, Melissa Edwards and husband Dwayne of Parsons, three step children, Paula Lowther and husband, Donald, of Rosendorf, Rebecca Joseph of Thornton, and Tracy Ludwig of Charlotte, NC., fifteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband is one son, Ronald “Bo” Haddix, one brother, Carl M. Summerfield, and two grandchildren.

Barbara attended the schools of Tucker County and was a homemaker. She was an avid cook. In 2010, she learned computer skills which she enjoyed putting to use. She loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family received friends at Hostetler Funeral Home on Monday, from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services were held at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at 11 a.m. Rev. Pat Cassidy will officiate, and interment will follow at Mt. State Memorial Gardens in Gilman.
