Barbara Gail Moore McDonald

Barbara Gail Moore McDonald, age 69 years, a life-long resident of Parsons, WV departed this life Saturday evening October 18, 2014, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She had been in declining health.

unnamedShe was born Thursday, March 22, 1945 at Baltimore, MD, a daughter of the late Howard and Eva Crosten Moore. On October 3, 1964 at, Oakland, MD, she was married to William Jackson “Jack” McDonald, who survives at Parsons. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary among family.

Left to cherish Barbara’s memory are three daughters, Jennifer Lynn McDonald of Morgantown, Jill McDonald Evick of Parsons, and Erica McDonald Knotts and husband Doug of Morgantown; three grandsons, Conner Evick, Isaac Knotts and Cameron Knotts; two brothers, Donald Keith Moore and wife Annabel and Ronald Moore and wife Naomi, all of Parsons; two sister-in-laws, Kathy Moore and Linda Moore, both of Parsons; and one brother-in-law, Millard Hilliard of Missouri.

Preceding her in death are three brothers, Howard Dale Moore, Ralph Moore and Frank Moore; and two sisters, Vera Moore Hilliard and Vonda R. Moore.

Barbara was a graduate of Parsons High School with the Class of 1963 and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She helped begin the “Hamrick Homemakers” in the early 1980’s and was an active member until she became ill in 2014. She was the board President of the Heritage House and the Parsons Train Depot for twenty plus years. She enjoyed crafting, reading and being with her family and friends and especially spending time with her grandsons.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Saturday from 1 until 2 p.m. Final rites will be conduted at the funeral home parlor on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 2 p.m. Pastor Allen D. Crosten will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery Cemetery at Parsons, WV. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Barbara Gail Moore McDonald.
