Carol Sue Helmick, entered into God’s loving hands on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at MetroHealth Medical Center after an acute illness.

Helmick,Carol2Carol Helmick (nee Lipscomb), was born June 26, 1936 in Thomas, WV to the late Florence and Hobart Lipscomb. Carol graduated from Thomas High School in June of 1953 and came to Cleveland later that year. Carol was the youngest sister of the deceased Viola Roll “Pete”, Willard Lipscomb, Hobart Lipscomb “June”, Irene Higby “Rene”, Don Lipscomb “Cub”, Maxine Judy and Louise Shannon.

Carol was the beloved and cherished Mom of Debbie Chmielewski (Matt), Jamie Waskowski (Randy), Sue Godley (Glenn), Jim Helmick (Lisa), Gary Helmick and Mary Lamp (Mark). Carol was the absolute BEST grandma to Nicole (Dan), Emily (Shane), Robin, Megan, George, Justin and Gary Marshall. She was the very proud great-grandma to Charlotte E. Griffin and baby Griffin #2. Carol was a dear aunt and friend to many. Carol was fun-loving and possessed a quick comic wit; she was musically gifted both in voice and instrument, playing both the trumpet , piano and organ.

She loved all animals, and children were her joy. We leave her to go to Jesus’ welcoming arms in Heaven, where she will be joined with all those family, friends, and pets who have gone before her. In lieu of flowers family suggests contributions in Carol’s memory to the Cleveland APL, 1729 Willey Ave., Cleveland, OH 44113. Funeral Service THURSDAY, September 25, 2014 at Hinkle Funeral Home, 567 Thomas Ave., Davis, WV at 12 Noon where family will receive friends from 10 AM until time of service at Noon. Arrangements by KOMOROWSKI FUNERAL HOME (216) 341-1854
