Connie Sue Feather, 56, of Aurora, WV passed away Sunday April 26, 2015 following a difficult battle with cancer at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born January 14, 1959 in Oakland, MD a daughter of the late Norman Keith and Ruby Victoria Dumire Feather who survives of Eglon, WV. Also surviving are one son; Shawn Stemple and companion Brittany of Aurora, WV, one daughter; Amy Stemple and her companion, Allen Goff of Aurora, WV, three brothers; Denny (Betty Jo) Feather, Gary (Robin) Feather both of Eglon, WV, Milton (Ronda) Feather of McHenry, MD and one grandson, Brandon Strawser.
Connie attended the First United Methodist in Parsons, WV and was very active with the Celebrate Recovery at the Summit Church in Elkins, WV until later on in her illness. She was a driver for Union Ambulance in Aurora for five and a half years and driver crew chief for two years. She completed the Community Emergency Response Team class held in Tucker County. Connie was on the All Tournament Team two years for basketball during her high school years at Aurora. Softball was her main sport. She was a US Slow Pitch Softball umpire for many years. She was an avid WVU, Steelers and Pirates fan. She enjoyed outdoor activities like camping, hiking, fishing and ramp diggin’ during the season. Most of all Connie enjoyed spending time with her loving family, her special grandson and many special friends.
Friends were received on Tuesday April 28 at Hinkle Funeral Home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 29, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Maple Spring Church of the Brethren, Eglon, WV with the Rev. Jeff Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in the Maple Spring Cemetery.
