Crystal Elaine Pennington, 43, a resident of Parkersburg, passed from this life Thursday, May 9, 2024, at her home. She had been in her usual health and death was sudden and unexpected.
Crystal was born Saturday, March 21, 1981, in Elkins, a daughter of the late Douglas Grant Pennington, Sr. and Norma “Louise” Falls Pritt, who survives in Montrose.
Also left to cherish Crystal’s memory is a son, Daniel Wyatt Sherman of Parkersburg, four siblings, Michael Bates and wife, Deb, of Montrose, Dale “Cubby” Pennington and wife, Norma, of Hambleton, Deanna Waybright, Tina Phillips, and a sister-in-law, Brenda Pennington, all of Montrose, several nieces and nephews including a niece she was especially close to, Addisyn Waybright, great-niece, Remi Thorne, both of Montrose, and her fiancé, Zayne Mathis and his daughter, Addison Mathis both of Parkersburg.
Preceding her in death besides her father, were three brothers, Bernette “Benny” Pennington, Douglas Grant “Dougie” Pennington, and Gerald “TC” Pennington, and her stepfather, Donald “Don” Junior Pritt.
Crystal graduated from New Era Christian Academy with the Class of 1999. She was employed as an in-home health provider for JCDC in Parkersburg. She was a fighter, and with the help and love of family and others, she overcame many things that had held her down. She loved her family and will be missed by them.
Visitation will be held at Hostetler Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, from 12pm until 2pm, the funeral hour. Interment will follow in Parsons City Cemetery.
