Dale A. Pifer

Dale A. Pifer, 63, a resident of Parsons, passed from this life on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his family and under the care of Mountain. Hospice.


Dale was born November 18, 1953, in Kingwood, a son of the late Clyde C Pifer and Jeckie Arvita Jones Pifer. On October 22, 1988, he married the former Sharon A. Metz who survives.

Others left to cherish Dale’s memory are seven children, Arvita D. Maxson and husband, Robin of Parsons, Melissa Isner of Parsons, Sandy Butcher and husband Donnie, of Shaversfork, Grace and Scooter Snyder of Parsons, Becky Boyce and husband Elbert of Grafton, Paula Lowther and husband Donnie of Hendricks, and Tracy Ludwig of Charlotte, NC, three siblings, Chet Pifer and wife Sis, Betty Delpopolo and husband Donald of Mechanicsburg, PA, Norma Costello and husband, Bud of Kingwood, fifteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Dale was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Lee Pifer, two grandchildren, CJ and DJ Joseph, and a great nephew, Christopher Pifer.

Dale attended the schools of Preston and Tucker Counties, and had worked various jobs. He spent most of working career in carpentry before becoming disabled. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

Dale’s request for cremation was honored. The Hostetler Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements for Dale A. Pifer. Send online condolences to the family at www.hostetlerfuneralhome.com
