Donald Ray Wilson, age 67 years, a resident of Hambleton, WV departed this life Thursday, March 2, 2017 at West Virginia University Hospital at Morgantown, WV.
He was born Sunday, February 26, 1950 at Cleveland, OH, a son of the late Ray Junior and Geraldine Alvita Shaffer Wilson. On December 2, 1967 at Erie, PA, he was married to the former Bonnie Blair Yates, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Don Ray Wilson and Cary Lee Wilson, both of Grafton; one daughter, Robin Lynn Vandevender of Elkins; one brother Ronald Lee Wilson of Horseshoe Run; one half brother, Patrick Wilson of OH; one sister, Constance “Connie” White of MD; thirteen grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
He attended the schools of Cleveland, OH. He was a former employee of the Republic Steel of Cleveland, OH. He was a machinist for the Mt. Storm Power Plant for thirty-one years, retiring in 2006. Don was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting, camping and traveling the backroads of West Virginia.
Mr. Wilson’s request for cremation was honored. A private inurnment will take place at the Mt. State Memorial Gardens at Gilman, WV.
