Donna G. Carrico Shoemaker, 90 of Alexandria, Virginia passed away on Monday, October 2, 2017 while in hospice care at Mary Washington Hospital.
Born in St. George, West Virginia, Donna was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She worked for Fairfax County Schools for more than 30 years. Her hobbies included crafting, quilting and baking.
Survivors include her sons and their spouses, Ernest and Doris Shoemaker, Larry and Vicki Shoemaker and Mark and Jeanette Shoemaker; seven grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Herman G. Shoemaker; parents; and a sister and brother.
A service were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 5 at Quantico National Cemetery. The family received friends from noon to 1 p.m. at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.
