Don was born Monday, February 15, 1932, a son of the late Oley Job Snyder and Rachel Gertrude Collins Snyder. He was twice married. First, on January 19, 1957, in Elkton, MD, he was married to the former Millie Plowman to whom he was married to for forty-two years. Preceding Don in death besides his parents were two sons, Daniel Snyder and Dennis “Chip” Snyder, three sisters, Kathleen Stonesifer, Eileen Walton, and Viola Kyle, three brothers, Delmer Snyder, Virgil Snyder and Kelly Snyder. Don was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Don attended Parsons High School, and he had served in the US Army during which time he was stationed in Germany. He was a coal miner for Laurel Run Mining Company. He enjoyed wood-working, working in his garage, playing his guitar and singing. He loved his family very much and loved spending time with them. He was a member of the Tucker County Veterans Association and a Pentecostal by faith.

Visitation will be held at the Hostetler Funeral Home on Wednesday, from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. Rev.
