Elsie May Harris Crosten Pifer, age 80 years, a resident of Tucker Manor, Parsons, WV, and a resident of Cortland Acres, departed this life Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at Garrett County Memorial Hospital at Oakland, MD. She had been in declining health.
She was born Thursday, May 12, 1938 at Widen, WV, Clay County, a daughter of the late Dale Harris and Nellie Frame Harris.
Surviving are two sons, Danny Charles Harris and George Dale Crosten; one daughter, Ellen Louise Hall; and grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are one son, Jackie VanMeter; two brothers, Jesse Lee Harris and Lloyd Harris; four sisters, Betty Jean Haynes, Pearl Phillips, Florence Long and Bonnie Tolliver.
She attended the schools of Clay County and worked in the Orchids Apple and Peach Company at Mt. Levels, WV. She attended the First United Methodist Church at Parsons.
Friends will be received at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Wednesday from 9 until 11 a.m. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Neil Parsons will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons, WV. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Elsie May Harris Crosten Pifer.
