Emogene Bell Gainer Moore

Emogene Bell Gainer Moore, age 90 years, a resident of Texas Mountain Road, St. George, WV, departed this life Tuesday evening, October 27, 2020 at Cortland Acres at Thomas, WV.

She was born Monday, February 3, 1930 at Barbour County, a daughter of the late Ernest Victor Gainer and Dove Lutz Gainer.  She was married to Walter Murl Moore.

Surviving are four sons, Randall Lee Moore of Texas Mountain Road, St. George, WV, Charles William “Charlie” Moore and wife Betty of Aurora, WV, Dennis Murl Moore and wife Linda of Buffalo, NY, and James “Jim” Moore and wife Kathy of Oakland, MD; one daughter, Carol Ann Harris of FL; three sisters, Cleo Cross  and husband Elmer of Volga, WV; Eldrey Moore of Nestorville, WV; and Mary Moore and husband Okey Ray of Parsons; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are three brothers, William “Bill” Gainer, Dale Gainer and Elmer Neil Gainer.

She attended the schools of Barbour County.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Sugar Grove Methodist Church at Texas Mountain Road.  Emogene was constantly baking, cooking, cleaning and working on the farm and making hay.

The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m.  Final rites were conducted at the funeral home on Friday, October 30, 2020 at 1 p.m.  Rev. Pat Cassidy officiated and interment followed at the Pifer Mountain Cemetery at St. George, WV.  The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements for Emogene Bell Gainer Moore.
