Faith Smith Robinson passed away suddenly on October 24th, 2025 in Enterprise, AL from lifelong diabetes complications. She was the fourth and last child of the late WVU West Virginia Daughter of the Revolution (WV DAR) Elizabeth G. and Stephen A. Smith Jr. (1932-2015) of Parsons. Faith leaves behind her only son, Miken Robinson, granddaughter, Kaitlyn Robinson of Virginia, former spouse, Ken Robinson of Maryland, half-sister, Sheila Jones of Iowa, Barbara and Carl Plum of OH, several cousins, nieces, nephews, great aunts, and uncles.
Faith was a graduate of Tucker County High School. She then went on to graduate from Davis & Elkins College where she met Ken Robinson and they married for a few years, having Miken and Kaitlyn Robinson. As a registered nurse, she moved to Alabama and worked for several hospitals and rehab centers.
Faith, or Mimi as she was called by Kaitlyn, had moved to Enterprise to assist in the care of foster children, thus continuing her lifelong work with children. Her lifelong love of cats was well known to all who knew her. Faith was a member of the Parsons Presbyterian Church in Parsons. She loved cooking, especially baking her famous “free food,” chocolate cupcakes that were given away freely to all who knew her.
Faith loved reading, listening to the Gaithers on YouTube, working crosswords, being on Facebook, and playing word games. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed all sports. Faith was also a huge animal lover and was often surrounded by her many cats, and she loved being surrounded by nature.
When she lived in Parsons, she would be seen taking long walks with her hands behind her, being immersed in her thoughts. Faith was known for her kindness and compassion to all she knew, even those who didn’t know her, she would strike up a conversation with. She had an incredible memory and would love to reminisce about people and places from miles away. She loved her home state of WV very much. Faith also suffered from many illnesses, including mental illness. She would drive hours away to get treatment for her conditions. She worried very much about others having the same conditions. She came to see herself as an advocate for them, and kept on giving away money even when she didn’t have any.
Faith’s beloved granddaughter came into the picture just two days after her son was married, and Faith loved her fiercely and would do anything for her. She was the most loving, kind, and generous mother-in-law a person could ever want, and she gave her daughter-in-law, Lillian, her life source, her kidneys when she needed one. Lillian was her life source, her kidney recipient. Lillian was the most loving and devoted daughter a person could ever wish for.
Faith’s faith in God was very strong, and she would pray every day and at all times. She prayed for everyone and everything. She will be greatly missed by all and all those who knew her well, her kindness and generosity will be remembered forever. She will have a joint memorial service with her mother, Elizabeth, on May 24, 2026, in Parsons. In lieu of flowers, per Faith’s request, kindly send donations to the Tucker County Animal Shelter, c/o Stacey Canfield, Rt 1 Box 258, Parsons, WV 26287 or to Enterprise, AL by contacting Stacey Smith (Robinson), please remember her kindness by doing something kind for others.
