Gary Dean Lipscomb, 53, of Davis, WV died June 4, 2016 at Cortland Acres following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born September 3, 1962 in Pittsburgh, PA a son of Gary Lynn and Rebecca Lynn Burns Lipscomb, Parsons, WV. Also surviving are his wife, Tina Drennings Lipscomb, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Pat Cross, Philippi WV, two sons, Dean (Katie) Lipscomb, Harrisburg, PA, Cameron (Lindsay) Lipscomb, Uniontown, PA, one daughter, Tessa Drenning, Pittsburgh, PA, one brother, Tom (Lori) Lipscomb, Morgantown, WV, two sisters, Kelly (Dale) Hawn, Fredericksburg, VA, Lorri “Punkin” Lipscomb, Morgantown, WV, four grandchildren, Anthony Lipscomb, Abigail Lipscomb, Francis Lipscomb, Addilyn Lipscomb, one nephew, Nathaniel Lipscomb, four nieces, Calla (Joe) Bohlman, Lexi Cross, Mallory Bolyard and Lily Anglin, all of Philippi, WV, one great- nephew, Gavin Bohlman and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Gary was an employee at Dominion Mt. Storm Power Plant where he was an Operator. In 2009, Gary married his soulmate Tina (Cross) Drenning, whom he adored. In his spare time he loved to play golf and spend time with his grandchildren.
Gary loved sports and you could always find him at the Tucker County Football and Basketball games cheering on the Mt. Lions.
Over the years Gary was active in coaching boys & girls basketball at DTEMS, along with coaching MAA football & basketball and Little League baseball.
Gary loved his community and was a current board member of the Tucker County Parks & Recreation and was also a current Councilman for the Town of Davis. He was a past member of the Democratic Executive Committee, Thursday Night Men’s Bowling League and played on numerous softball teams in the county.
Gary was loved by all that knew him. His love for his family shined brightly and he will forever be missed by his family, friends and community.
Friends were received at Hinkle Funeral Home, Monday, June 6, from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services were held, 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 7, at Hinkle Funeral Chapel with Rev.
