Glenes Elwood Dumire, 84, of Oakland, MD passed away at his home April 23, 2017. He was born March 1, 1933 in William, WV a son of the late George Steven and Vernie Mae Moats Dumire.


He is survived by his daughter, Glenda Lynn Dumire (William) Friend, granddaughter, Jasmine Friend, children of heart, Rita (Larry) Truxall, Ronald (Renee) Aliff, and James (Betty) Aliff, and one brother, Gorman (Maxine) Dumire. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Cecil (Sylvia) Dumire, Gilbert (Myrtle) Dumire, and Herbert (Beatrice) Dumire, and three sisters, Margaret (Joe) plisko, Geneive (Arlo) Sisler, and Mable (Elmer) Gaither.

Mr. Dumire served in the Navy. He was a devoted Pastor to his church, Creation for Christ Ministry. He enjoyed spending time with his family, completing God’s Work, reading, especially his Bible, and spending time increasing his knowledge.

He had friends across the states and he was a very sociable person, getting along with everyone that he crossed paths with, knowing no stranger. He was always willing to help anyone who crossed his path. Mr. Dumire’s last request was to be brought back home on the mountain. The family would like to express their gratitude to the church its congregation for their unwavering support to Mr. Dumire.

Friends were received at Hinkle Funeral Home, Thursday, April 27 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services were held 11 a.m., Friday, April 28 at Creation for Christ Ministry in Oakland, MD with Rev. Ron Hull officiating. Interment followed in Accident Cemetery in Eglon, WV. Hinkle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. www.hinklefuneralhome.com
