Mr. Harold Lee Herron, age 79, a resident of Belington departed this life Sunday Morning November 9, 2014 in Ruby Memorial Hospital following a short period of declining health.
He was born May 24, 1935, at Belington, a son of the late Delbert Lee Herron and Bertha Vest Herron who survives at Belington. On June 29, 1955 he was united in marriage to the former Virginia “Jenny” Gay Oldaker who also survives at Belington.
In addition to wife is survived by one son; Gary L. Herron and wife Anita of Parsons, one daughter; Cathy Jean Estill and husband Gene of Oakland, MD, one brother; Russell E. Herron of Belington, three sisters; Dottie Carpenter, Karen Carpenter and husband Larry, Janet K. Hoffman and husband Gary all of Belington, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers; Eugene Delbert Herron and Larry J. Herron, two sisters; Donna June Herron and Maxine Ricottilli, one grandchild; Gary Lee Herron Jr. who was affectionately called “Goobie”.
Mr. Herron attended the schools of Barbour County and was owner and operator of Garrett Auto Glass in Oakland, MD before retiring and moving back to Belington. He was a proud member of the NRA, and also a member of the Calvary Mission Church in Belington, WV. He dearly loved his canine companion Max, and he will be sadly missed by all.
Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday November 12, 2014 and again on Thursday November 13, 2014 from 8 a.m.- 1p.m. the funeral hour when funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Pastor Howard Biller officiating. Interment will follow in the Trinity Cemetery near Belington. The Talbott Funeral Home in Belington is in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Harold Lee Herron.
