Howard Dewaine Parsons, 79, a resident of Holly Meadows, passed from this life Monday, March 30, 2015 at home in Parsons surrounded by his loving family.
Howard was born Sunday, December 1, 1935 in Holly Meadows, a son of the late Edgar Parsons and Bessie Phillips Raines. On August 25, 1970 in Oakland, MD, he married the former Margaret Smith who survives in Parsons.
Also left to cherish Howard’s memory are four children, Susie Wright of Huntington, Shirley Lester and husband Gary of Hendricks, Marshall Parsons Sr. and wife Minnie of Parsons and Linda Frame and husband Sam of Parsons, seven grandchildren, Seth Wright, Jimmy Helmick, Travis Helmick, Marshall Parsons Jr., Solena Parsons, Kristy Frame and Michaela Frame and four great grandchildren, Issak and Lelan Parsons, Spencer Helmick, Lawson Wright and Dakota Eye.
Preceding Howard in death besides his parents was one granddaughter, Audree Frame.
Howard attended the schools of Tucker County and had been employed at Kingsford. Howard loved the outdoors. He enjoyed squirrel hunting and especially trout fishing. It was said that “he could catch a fish out of a mudhole.” And, his CB handle was “Trout Man.” Howard was an excellent artist and enjoyed drawing cars. After becoming disabled due to two separate hand injuries, Howard taught himself how to shoot a high powered rifle. Howard was a very tough man with a gentle soul and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
