Howard Junior Moore, age 68 years, a resident of Montrose, WV departed this life early Saturday morning, May 13, 2017 at the Davis Medical Center Emergency Department at Elkins, WV. He had been in declining health although death was unexpected.
He was born Monday, October 25, 1948 at Parsons, WV, a son of the late William Bradford and Betsy Marie Jeffries Moore. He was married to the former Helen Marie Crites, who preceded him in death April 6, 2007
Surviving are one daughter, Marlena Dawn Moore of Montrose; two brothers, Earl Moore of Parsons and William “Bill” Moore and wife Sharon of Charleston; three sisters, Ida Workman of Parsons, Rosa Moore of Mill Creek and Wanda Perry and husband Jim of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.
He attended the schools of Tucker County. He was an employee of the former Parsons Footwear until its closing, he drove truck and was an employee of the Pilgrims Pride Fresh Plant in Moorefield until his retirement in 2010. He enjoyed working in his flower garden, apple trees and he loved his little dog “Lassie”.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 11 a.m. Rev. Roy Waybright will officiate and interment will follow at the Leading Creek Primitive Baptist Cemetery at Montrose, WV.
