Ian D. Howell-Clarke, 82, died peacefully at his home in Kingwood, WV on February 6, 2014.
He was born in Banstead, Surrey, England on July 11, 1931 to the late Mary & Leonard Howell-Clarke.
He was a 10 year veteran of The Royal Navy. He immigrated to the United State in 1965 working as an electrical engineer at Gilbert Associates Inc.. He last worked for Tennessee Valley Authority and retired in 1996 to the Canaan Valley. He was a member of the Rotary Club, volunteered with the Tucker County Chorus and also tutored at the Tucker County High School. He enjoyed wood working, reading, fishing and listening to classical music. He was a very loving person and he will be sadly missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his late wife, Anne Howell-Clarke (Freeman), in 1997.
He is survived by his wife, Edith I. Howell-Clarke (McMullen) of Kingwood, WV, three sisters, Moira Hughes, Sheila Webb and Fiona Stock, all residing in England. He also survived by his children, daughter Bridget wife of Mark deTurck of Cummings, Georgia, daughter Sara wife of Daniel Miller of Reading, Pennsylvania, daughter Charlotte wife of Mark Werner, Reading, Pennsylvania, son Drury (DJ) husband of Kathleen Howell-Clarke of Birdsboro Pennsylvania and son Alistair husband of Melissa Howell-Clarke of Reading Pennsylvania. He also survived by ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
He also survived by five step daughters, Melody Kabooras of Ladson, South Carolina, Debby Johnson of Thomas, West Virginia, Bilyn Bozic of Hagerstown, Maryland, Suan Bean of Davis, West Virginia and Caryn Williams of Hagerstown, Maryland. He also survived by thirteen step grandchildren and eight step great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 104 E High Street, Kingwood, WV 26537 on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 2 pm. Flowers welcome but in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice Care Corporation, PO Box 760, Arthurdale, WV 2652
