Ilene Mae Tompkins

Ilene Mae Tompkins, 84, of Parsons, West Virginia passed away October 8, 2018 at Garrett Regional Medical Center in Oakland, Maryland. She was born June 26, 1934 in Parsons, West Virginia a daughter of the late Wade Henry and Mary Elizabeth Birch Lansberry.


She is survived by her husband, Herman Henry Tompkins. Also surviving are four children, Nick Tompkins and wife Kim, Marylu Moats and husband Earl, Bernard “Pete” Tompkins and wife Merry, and Diana Mullenax and husband Frank, one sister, Maine Garner, eleven grandchildren, Tim, John, Jeff, Christina, and Michelle Tompkins, Rick and Kenneth Liller, Amanda and Jennie Tompkins, Lynne and Travis Mullenax, and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Paul, and Bussy Lansberry, and one sister, Leona Shadwal.

Mrs. Tompkins worked as a cook for numerous years. She also enjoyed spending her free time cooking and canning.

Friends were at Hinkle Funeral Home, Friday, October 12, from 4 – 8 p.m. Funeral services were held, 11 a.m., Saturday, October 13, at Hinkle Funeral Chapel with Rev. Pat Cassidy officiating. Interment followed in the Parsons Cemetery. Hinkle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Condolences can be made to the family at www.hinklefuneralhome.com
