J. Paul Rudy, husband of Eva M. (Stetter) Rudy passed away on October 10, 2018 at Garret Regional Medical Center in Oakland, Maryland. J. Paul was born in York, Pennsylvania. The youngest son of the late James S, and Alma M. Rudy.


He is survived by his loving wife Eva M. Rudy and two children, daughter, Pamela Ann Kosanic, wife of Joseph Kosanic, and son Eric R. Rudy, married to Marylyn Rudy. Grandchildren, Megan Kosanic of Morgantown, West Virginia and Melanie Miller and husband Mark, and great-granddaughter, Adaline Miller of Bel Air, Maryland. Paul is survived by two brothers and sisters who reside in Lancaster, Pennsylvania . John H. married to Lucy (Gehman) Rudy, Clarence E. married to the late Marion (Brackbill) Rudy, Sarah E. (Hess-Sauder), Nancy L. married to Robert Martin, the eldest sister, Mary Jane Detweiler is deceased.

J. Paul attended schools in York, Pennsylvania and graduated from William Penn Senior High School. Following high school. J. Paul graduated from Penn State University, Temple University and completed his doctoral studies at the University of Delaware. He was founder and first administrator of the Delaware School for the Deaf.

His career took dual paths in Speech Pathology-Audiology and as a Realtor Developer. He finished his career as a speech therapist at Cortland Acres Nursing home.

At the request of Mr. Rudy, he will be cremated. Friends will be received at Community Bible Church in Davis, West Virginia, October 20, from 3 – 4 p.m., the funeral hour, with Rev. John Callaway officiating. interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Hinkle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. condolences can be made to the family at www.hinklefuneralhome.com
