James Dale Oldaker

James Dale Oldaker, age 76 years, a resident of Hambleton, WV departed this life Saturday morning, November 11, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family and under the care of WV Caring.  He had been in declining health.


He was born Friday, November 22, 1940 at Parsons, WV, a son of the late Harrison Newton and Cressie May Shaffer Oldaker.  On   August 22, 1962 at Oakland, MD, he was married to the former Nancy Ruth Bennett, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, James Harrison Oldaker of Holly Meadows and Timmy Willard Oldaker and wife Nancy of Hendricks; one daughter, Tammy Jean Corcoran and husband Kevin of Parsons; four sisters, Katherine Oldaker of Manassas, VA, Virginia Herron of Oakland, MD, Agnus Poling and husband Glenn of Parsons and Jane Johnson of FL; three grandchildren, Travis Nestor, James Oldaker and Steven Oldaker.

Preceding him in death are one brother, Frank Oldaker; and four sisters, Mary Lee Powell, Dorothy Griffith, Jean Gray and Betty Jo Williams.

He attended Parsons High School.  He was a former employee of Kingsford Charcoal Company and the Local 984 Labor Union for thirty-three years.  He was an avid gardener and loved to hunt.

Mr. Oldaker’s request for cremation was honored.  The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons, WV is in charge of the arrangements for James Dale Oldaker.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at; www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com
