James “Jim” Ralph Good II, 70, of Canaan Valley, West Virginia passed away March 27, 2020 at WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia. He was born October 9, 1949 in Elkins, West Virginia, a son of the late James Ralph Good and Ruth Forsythe Good.
Jim is survived by his wife, Beth Rice Good, whom he married on June 14, 1977. He is also survived by one son, Jason Good and wife Jaime of Morgantown, West Virginia, one grandson, Joseph Good of Morgantown, West Virginia , one sister, Linda Good Hamrick and husband Curt of Wheeling, West Virginia, two brothers-in-law, Gary and Lynn Rice and their families of Keyser, West Virginia, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Daniel Robert Good.
Mr. Good was a graduate of Class 1967 of Mountaineer High School in Davis, West Virginia. He attended West Virginia University. He was a licensed nuclear reactor operator and resigned from that business to open his own business in Canaan Valley in 1978. He owned and operated Canaan Valley Stores Inc for 25 years before retiring. He was the definition of an avid fisherman and he lived and breathed Mountaineer Sports.
At the request of Mr. Good, he will be cremated. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
