James Walter “Glowbug” Lipscomb

James Walter “Glowbug” Lipscomb, age 34 years a resident of the Location Road Community, St. George, WV, departed this life Sunday evening, August 5, 2018 at the Mission Hospital at Ashville, NC.  Death was attributed to heart complications; however, it was sudden and unexpected.


He was born Friday, July 6, 1984 at Elkins, WV, a son of Johnny Dale and Dorothy Rae Pratt Lipscomb, who survives at St. George, WV.  He had never married. Also surviving are one brother, Jason Scott Lipscomb of St. George; two sisters, Jenny Dale Lipscomb and fiancé Darin Heckler of St. George and Jonnie Lea Kifer and husband Justin of Morgantown; one nephew, Cody James McCrum; and several aunts and uncles.
Preceding him in death are his paternal grandparents, Clayton and Lillian Lipscomb and his maternal grandparents, Walter and Gettie Pratt.

He was a graduate of Tucker County High School with the class of 2002. He was a former employee of Maxwell Construction, and Ricottilli Lumber Co.  He was a member of the Carpenter’s Union, working for R.M. Huffman and specialized in wood flooring and cabinetry.   He enjoyed building furniture and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Mr. Lipscomb’s request for cremation was honored.  The family received family and friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Monday, August 13 from 5 to 8 p.m.
