Jean Marie Lomanto, 84, of Thomas, WV left this world to be with her Lord and Savior on March 18, 2017 at Cortland Acres. She was born December 23, 1932 in Thomas, WV a daughter of the late Salvatore and Marie Calcerano Lomanto.


Also preceding her in death were four sisters; Carmela Eichelberger, Elizabeth Barota, Angela Musca and Rosalie Masel, two brothers; Sam M. Lomanto and infant brother Michael Lomanto. Survivors include six nephews; Sam J. (Roz) Eichelberger, Sam Lomanto, Jr. (Diana K. Karlinsey), Michael (Margaret) Lomanto, Louis V. (Lorrie) Barota, David J. (Julie) Barota and Mark (JoJo) Musca, 4 nieces; Kimberly Yamrose, Sandy Masel, Cindy Waschura and Mimi Darty.

Ms. Lomanto worked as a clerk in a grocery store and was later employed by Miners and Merchants Bank as a teller until her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews and families. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church which was a mainstay in her life. She loved going to church and prayed the Rosary daily.

Friends were received on Sunday March 19 at Hinkle Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. with Rosary held at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday March 20 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church at 10 a.m. with Father Timothy Grassi as celebrant. Interment followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Hinkle Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. www.hinklefuneralhome.com
