Pifer,JeckieArvitaJeckie Arvita Jones Pifer, 87, a resident of Parsons, passed from this life Monday, August 8, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family.
Jeckie was born Sunday, July 8, 1929 in St. George, a daughter of the late Pearl Jones. She was married to Clyde C. Pifer who preceded her in death during 1986.
Left to cherish Jeckie’s memory are five children, Chester Pifer and wife, Carolyn of Ellamore, Norma J. Costello and husband, Gay “Bud” of Kingwood, Dale A. Pifer and wife, Sharon of Parsons, Betty Delpopolo and husband, Don of Pennsylvania, and Arvita Maxson and husband Robin of Parsons with whom she made her home. Other survivors include fourteen grandchildren, forty-seven great grandchildren, twenty-three great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Jeckie in death besides her mother and husband was her sister, Catherine Minear, a son, Roger Pifer, two infant sons, and one infant daughter.
Jeckie attended the schools of St. George and had worked as a cook for many years at Ellie’s Restaurant in Parsons. She enjoyed working puzzles, cooking, going for rides in the car, and walks.
A visitation was held at Hostetler Funeral Home on Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 11 a.m. to noon. At Noon, Jeckie will be moved to Fairview Cemetery on Location Road where Graveside Services will be held with Rev. Paula Lower officiating. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Kelly Pennington and Annette Wilfong of Mt. Hospice for their wonderful and compassionate care of Jeckie.
