Joan Ellen Wiles Heckler, 73, a resident of St. George, passed from her, life at her home surrounded by family and under the care of West Virginia Caring after a long term illness.
Joan was born on Monday, June 17, 1946, in Parsons, a daughter of the late Harvey J. Wiles and Beulah A. Bohon Wiles. On September 25, 1964, in Oakland, MD, she was married to Darrell L. Heckler, who survives.
Others left to cherish Joan’s memory are two children, Trina D. Carr and Darrell “Darin” W. Heckler, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her brother, Gene C. Wiles.
Joan attended the schools of Tucker County, had worked for Parsons Footwear, Reidboard Brothers, BigT, and as a cook for the Tucker County Board of Education. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and loved spending time with her family. She attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
