Mr. John Henry Long, 90, formerly of 223 Spruce St., died peacefully at 4:45 AM on December 6, 2014 at his daughter’s home in Pleasantville.

John was born on September 5, 1924 in Hendricks, WV, to the late Riley and Izzy Fridley Long. He married Kathleen Kinsley on July 27, 1957 in Titusville. She preceded him in death on April 18, 1970.

He worked as a woodsman for several years before becoming a lumber inspector for Fisher and Young Saw Mill. He was last employed as a custodian for the Titusville Area School District.

Hunting and fishing were John’s favorite things. He loved being with his friends and family and enjoyed going for a walk.

He is survived by his two daughters, Mary Vincent and husband Steve of Pleasantville, and Linda Smalley and husband Paul of Diamond; five grandchildren, Adam Vincent and wife Kattie of Sinclairville, NY, Benjamin Vincent and wife Andrea of Oil City, and Brooke, Eve, and Evan John Smalley of Diamond; one great grandchild Cole Michael Vincent of Sinclairville, NY; two brothers, Norman Long of Parsons, WV, and Perry Long of West Virginia.

In addition to his parents and wife John was preceded in death by a sister Pearl Long; two brothers William and Robinson Long; and an infant brother.

No public calling hours will be observed. A private service will be conducted for the family at a later date.

Interment will be at Kingsley Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Crawford County 310 N. Monroe St. Titusville, PA 16354.
