Johnette “Tonya” Lea Lambert, 40, a resident of the Blackman Flats Community in Hambleton, passed from this life Saturday, December 27, 2014 at UPMC in Pittsburgh following a lengthy illness.
Tonya was born on Monday, July 15, 1974 in Elkins, a daughter of John Richard Lambert and Sharon Ann Pennington Lambert who survive in Hambleton.
Left to cherish Tonya’s memory is her half sister, Debra White of Elkins, two nephews, Matthew and wife, Amanda of Virginia and Wesley White of Elkins, one great niece, Allona White, five uncles, Junior, Howard, Tommy, Merritt, and Randy, and ten aunts, Betty, Sissy, Dottie, Carolyn, Joellen, Joyce, Bobbie, Patricia, Mickey, and Dian, many cousins, and her beloved dogs, Squirrel, Sparky, Dixie, Leo, and Marly.
Tonya was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Oxford Lambert and Belva Taylor Lambert, her maternal grandparents, Harry B. Pennington, Sr. and Alma Kelley Pennington, and one uncle, Harold Lambert.
Tonya was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1992, and had taken many college classes over the years. She had worked many jobs, but due to an automobile accident, had been disabled. She enjoyed cooking and watching races, but her animals were the loves of her life and often brought stray cats and dogs home.
Visitation was held at the Summerfield Funeral Home in Parsons on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and from 6 p to 7:30 p.m. At 7:30 p.m., Rev. James Snyder will officiate a funeral service, and Tonya’s request for cremation will follow.
