Kathryn Francis Freeman Hill, age 81 years, a native of Tucker County and a resident of Cortland Acres at Thomas WV, departed this life late Thursday evening, August 17, 2017 at Cortland Acres. She had been in declining health.
She was born Wednesday, August 21, 1935 at Wolf Summit, WV, a daughter of the late Willis Enoch and Susie Mae Davis Freeman. She was married during 1957 at Clarksburg, WV to Willard Clay Hill, Jr., who preceded her in death in 1984.
Surviving are one son, Gary Lee Hill of Clarksburg; two daughters, Sherry Lynn Stull and husband Richard of Conway, SC. And Penny Sue Auvil and husband Tim of Parsons; one brother, Thomas Fay Freeman of Cherry Camp, WV; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are three brothers, Willie Freeman, Bobby Freeman and Harold Freeman; and one sister Rosalie Freeman Bennett.
She was a graduate of Bristol High School with the class of 1953. She was a former employee of the McCoy’s Dept. Store in Clarksburg, WV, a seamstress and a homemaker.
The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. Final rites were conducted at the funeral home on Monday, August 21, 2017 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Robert Leard officiated and interment followed at the Limestone Cemetery on Limestone Mountain at St. George, WV.
